Why I’m Doing Ks for Kids
As you know our Aurelia has a very rare genetic syndrome. SATB2 associated syndrome. Which affects her in so many ways.
Professor Leszek Lisowski leads the Translational Vectorology and Gene Therapy team at the Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI), which is the organization behind the iconic Jeans for Genes fundraising campaign.
His work is focused on developing cutting-edge gene therapy tools to cure over 6,000 genetic diseases that affect children, including SATB2 associated syndrome. Instead of simply treating symptoms, Dr. Lisowski's team is designing custom delivery vehicles (like engineered viral vectors) to replace flawed genes or correct errors at the DNA level. This will help sooo many families across the world so please donate if you can ❤️
