My niece Aubrey was diagnosed at 4months with the Genetic Disease called Gauchers Disease. Aubrey had the type two variant of the disease which unfortunately was incurable. Sadly Aubrey passed away from this cruel disease at just 9 months of age in 2019.It is my hope that in bringing awareness to genetic disorders like that of Gauchers Disease valuable funds will be raised to help research and hopefully develop cures in the future so other children and families don’t have to endure the suffering that a genetic disorder diagnosis deliver.
This August marks the sixth anniversary of Aubrey’s passing, so I’m taking on the Ks for Kids challenge - walking/running 60km to raise funds for Children’s Medical Research Institute, supporting scientists who are working today to find cures for tomorrow.
