In Honour of Olivia

Olivia was born with a rare chromosome deletion 2q31.1 and duplication 22q11. From the beginning Olivia has faced many challenges and continues to face them daily at 5 years old. Geneticists told us Olivia may never walk or talk but she has shown how capable and resilient she really is with weekly therapies & early intervention playing a huge part in this. She has been diagnosed with GDD, ADHD and ID but still has no formal diagnosis of her condition due to lack of funding for research. Olivia attends a special school & is emerging verbal (she imitates, uses basic words) she is completely dependant on me. In the last 5 years Olivia has had multiple surgeries, MRI’s, sickness & setbacks. 

There’s lots of work to do, but there is also lots of hope.
