I’m fundraising in honour of my child, Carter McIntyre.
Here's my main reason...... Our Son Carter was born in 2009 with Dysplastic kidneys that's all we knew then! as he got older and wasn't reaching milestones and struggling with social and emotional and the behaviours we were dealing with was very stressful after so many appointments when Carter was 4 he was diagnosed with developmental delay, which then came with a diagnosis of autism,adhd poor muscle tone ect, then we got genetic testing and at that stage nothing came up. then back in 2023 the hospital suggested with everything that Carter had going on to do the genetic testing again...... then in the October we were told Carter had 17Q12 which explained it all!!! everything that he has is what comes with this genetic deletion syndrome. Now we as a family are not only facing the behaviour the school difficulties all the therapy appointments ect health problems have now started sadly Carters kidneys function is dropping he has very high liver reading and sugar reading which he had to get 17 viels of blood taken in hospital last week which have not come back great! and now Liver scans and many more specialist appointments yo come. He said to me tonight I just want to be a normal kid mum! broke my heart life for Carter has NEVER been easy but things just keep getting thrown at him and us as a family so...... tonight I thought ok I can't skip but for him I will !!!
