Why I’m fundraising

Globally 12 children are born every single minute with a birth defect or an incurable genetic disease. Across Australia this reality impacts 1 in every 20 kids—averaging roughly one child in every school classroom. Instead of enjoying a carefree childhood, these kids collectively account for 30% of all children's hospital admissions, enduring repetitive surgeries, organ transplants, and rigorous medical regimens.

I am completing the 3,600 Skips in August for Jeans for Genes because the vast majority of these 6,000+ conditions currently have no known cure. By raising vital funds for the Children's Medical Research Institute, we can advance genetic research, develop life-saving treatments, and help these children just be kids again.
