Why Iβm Supporting Jeans for Genes
Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? Thatβs one in every classroom!
Our granddaughter Amelia has 1p36 deletion syndrome. 1 in 5000 babies are born each year with this syndrome and research is still fairly limited for this.
This year, Iβm taking part in Jeans for Genes to help fund the incredible scientists at Childrenβs Medical Research Institute, who are working today to change lives tomorrow.
You can help raise money to help further research in the field of genetic diseases for syndromes like 1p36 deletion syndrome, Neurofibromatosis type II, STXBP1 and other genetic diseases such as Cystic Fibrosis.Β
To raise funds, I will be making cupcakes ($4 per cupcake. Chocolate, vanilla, red velvet), gluten free cinnamon rolls ($12 - 1/2 dozen), and chocolate slice ($12 - 8 pieces. Chocolate slice is suitable for vegans as well). Alternatively, you can make a donation directly to Jeans for Genes by following the link on my page.
Your donation will help keep labs running, research advancing, and hope alive for kids who need it most.
Together, we can make a difference.
