Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? When you break that down, that’s roughly one child in every single classroom across the country.
In my work as a counsellor, I spend my days alongside kids and young people, listening to their stories and helping them navigate life’s big challenges. Seeing what they carry—and witnessing their incredible resilience—is the heart of why I do what I do. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, supported, and hopeful about their future.
That’s why this August, I’m taking on the Ks for Kids challenge (skipping, walking, and running!) to raise funds for the Children’s Medical Research Institute. They’re doing the vital, behind-the-scenes work to find cures and treatments for conditions that affect so many young lives.
