Approx 3 1/2 years ago my daughter was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease called Alpha 1 Antitrypsyn Deficiency which affect liver and lungs. Currently my daughter is liver affected but with the correct diet and life style we have it under control this is something she will live with for her whole life and in the future could be lung affected.  There is not a lot of to no research or understanding of Alpha 1 in Australia and due to misdiagnoses people are unable to be treated correctly for this disease.
