So far I’ve completed 23 Ks for Kids this August
Why I’m Doing Ks for Kids
We often don’t talk much about genetic diseases or birth defects because it can feel uncomfortable. Not talking about these conditions doesn’t make the challenges people face any better, so this month I’ll be doing some walking and talking to fundraise and help get some conversations going.
Did you know that
1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? That’s one in every classroom!
This August, I’m taking on the
Ks for Kids challenge - walking or running to raise funds for
Children’s Medical Research Institute, supporting scientists who are working today to find cures for tomorrow.
Your donation will help keep labs running, research advancing, and hope alive for kids who need it most.
Every step I take is for them. Your donation will help me go the distance and fund vital research!

First walk!
Today was my first walk for Jeans for Genes. The day started with frost, but the afternoon sunshine was delightful!
Today I learned that one of the conditions that Children's Medical Research Initiative has worked on is rubella, with the congenital defects caused by this illness now prevented through vaccination.
