Why I’m skipping

I’ve decided to take on the challenge of 100 skips a day throughout August to raise money for Children’s Medical Research Institute as part of Jeans for Genes.

As someone involved in BMX and sport, I know how lucky we are to be able to move our bodies, chase goals, and enjoy the things we love every day. Sadly, many Aussie kids and families are facing battles far bigger than any race or challenge — fighting genetic diseases, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions.

1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a birth defect or genetic disease. That statistic alone is heartbreaking, but it also shows why fundraising and awareness matter so much.

For me, this challenge is about doing something small each day that can contribute to something much bigger. If 100 skips a day can help raise awareness, spark conversations, and support life-saving research, then every skip is worth it.

I’d love your support — whether that’s donating, sharing this post, or even joining in yourself.

Together, we can help give more kids the chance to live healthy, happy lives.

Thank you 💙
