Why I’m Supporting Jeans for Genes
Did you know that
1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? That’s one in every classroom!
My understanding of cystic fibrosis is shaped not only by learning about the condition but also by personal loss. I lost two close friends, Kayla and Maddy, to cystic fibrosis, and their lives showed me both the challenges and the strength of those living with the condition. Despite advances in treatment that have improved life expectancy for many people with CF, the disease can still have devastating consequences. Remembering Kayla and Maddy reminds me that behind every diagnosis is a person with hopes, dreams, and loved ones. Their memories continue to inspire compassion, awareness, and appreciation for ongoing research and improved treatments.

Children’s Medical Research Institute, who are working today to change lives tomorrow.
