This Term, our schools are running a "School of Origin" (CHS vs ESHS), 3 round sporting competition to raise money for rare genetic diseases.
As of now, there are over 400,000 children who suffer from rare genetic diseases. And to put it into perspective, that's 1 in 20 Aussie kids. That's one in every single classroom.
Every day, these thousands of young Australian kids encounter difficulties that we ourselves would never have to think about: walking, playing, eating, learning, even simply getting out of bed.
And as kids, teenagers, and young adults ourselves, we all know how privileged we are to be able to do the things we love, - swimming, running, playing music, hanging out with mates.
This year, weāre taking part in Jeans for Genes to help fund the incredible scientists at Childrenās Medical Research Institute, who are working today to find cures for tomorrow.
Any donation will prove to be beneficial. Any amount will contribute to providing a better future for the kids who suffer from these genetic diseases.
