Why I’m doing Jeans for Genes’ Bake it Blue

I’ve signed up to do Bake it Blue. This raises money for Children’s Medical Research Institute which brings us 1 step closer to finding cures for genetic illnesses for children and even save lives! Can you help by sharing this message with the people you know and asking them to donate too?

I care about the 1 in 20 Aussie kids who face a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer. Most people don’t know that cancer is caused by changes in genes—but almost everyone will be touched by it. So, the research you and I support today may one day help someone we know, someone in our family.

There’s lots of work to do, but there is also lots of hope too.

Jeans For Genes Day SUCCESS! 👏👖💪🧁💙🥳

Thank you all so much for your generosity. It honestly means so much to us that you have taken the time to read, learn a bit and donate! 

Thank You to everyone that has helped donate to Our Jeans for Genes Day *Bake it Blue* Event.
Together we have raised $250 for the Children's Medical Research Institute. 🥰💙🧁🥳🎉👏
This means we have raised the equivalent to 5 hours of research into genetic illnesses that plague children all over the country! 
The wonderful generosity from everyone today means the difference of being 1 day closer to a cure for all the children that are suffering, and I couldn't have done it without you all. 👏 🥳🎉

GEANS FOR GENES DAY! FRIDAY 2ND AUGUST!! 👖💙🧁🤲

As most of you already know I am very passionate about Jeans for Genes Day and the Childrens Medical Research Institute. There are way to many illnesses without cures and more that pop up everyday. With a little help from all of us im sure we can make a difference. 
For as long as i can remember I have also suffered from a genetic illness that is soo rare that most people have never heard about it. 
Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia or HHT for short.
My Pop even passed away from this illness in 2012 and there is still not enough people that know about this. Fortunately if you are aware about this illness you can manage it with medical assistance, constant check ups and even changing living behaviours and restrictions on certain things like jogging in the sun or something as simple as having a drink or too. I am very lucky that this illness is not as deadly as most and if monitored will most likely not lead to death.

However there are children in Australia and all over the world that shouldnt have to suffor from illness like this simply because there isnt any knowledge or research about these rare genetic illnesses. When an illness such as these effects you from birth it can be horrible as you grow up "different" and often feeling unwell or in worst cases like cancers hospitalised. This should not be something a child needs to worry about. And definitely not something a parent needs to feel guilty for. 

Please help me and donate to this amazing cause, i have kept the target low at $50 but would absolutely love to smash it and aim for cliser to $150. I will be hosting an event for *Bake it Blue* at my workplace and will be encouraging all to donate too. All it takes is 50% of my friends list to donate $5 and we can hit this goal easy!!
