Why I’m doing Jeans for Genes
This isn't my first year raising money for Jeans for Genes, but it's going to be the biggest!
I'll be going dry this July and giving up alcohol for a month, putting my weekly savings towards Jeans for Genes. Then, on Jeans for Genes Day (August 4th), you can catch me in Martin Place by the volunteer stand.
As someone who's worked at the Children's Medical Research Institute, I've seen not only seen how important the support of Jeans for Genes is for their work, but also, more importantly, how important their work is in helping find treaments and cures for childhood disease.
From 3D printed organs to disease curing viruses, it all sounds like science fiction, but as they push medical research into exciting new frontiers, they're also having a real impact on the lives of little kids affected by genetic disease.
I myself spent many years in and out of The Children's Hospital At Westmead, so I know first hand how important their work is for the kids living with childhood disease.
The Children's Medical Research Institute is giving these kids hope, so the least we can do is give them our support.
