Why I’m doing Jeans for Genes

We are back for our fourth year running to raise money for Children’s Medical Research Institute and help save more kids’ lives. Can you help by sharing this message with the people you know and asking them to donate too?

Our reason is Harper. Our 6 year old daughter, who at 2.5 years old was diagnosed with 2 rare gene mutations CACNA1E & HK1, both of which are neurological based conditions.

Harper is fully cared for - toileting, changing, feeding, drinking, transferring, for just some examples are all done by her parents Ben & Michelle which help from our amazing support worker and family & friends.

We will be holding our annual Harpertastic1km Travelling Burpees challenge again for 2024!

I care about the 1 in 20 Aussie kids who face a birth defect or genetic disease, like cancer. Most people don’t know that cancer is caused by changes in genes—but almost everyone will be touched by it. So, the research you and I support today may one day help someone we know, someone in our family.

There’s lots of work to do, but there is also lots of hope.
