Why we’re doing Jeans for Genes
We’ve signed up to Jeans for Genes to raise money for Children’s Medical Research Institute and help save more kids’ lives. Can you help by sharing this message with the people you know and asking them to donate too?
Here's just one story explaining why this cause is so important:
Jane and Sandra both work at Shoalhaven Hospital and in the past 12 months both have lost a significant family member to genetic disorders.
Jane's son Curtis passed away from FoxG1 at 19 years of age, whilst Sandra's grandson Lucas passed away from SMPD4 at 17 months old.
Without the SDMH family neither of us would have been able to get through the last 12 months losing our boys, so in memory we are asking our work family to wear your jeans on August 2nd and donate to this cause so that research continues and helps other families in the future.
We care about the 1 in 20 Aussie kids who face a birth defect or genetic disease, like FoxG1 and SMPD4. So, the research we support today may one day help someone we know, someone in our work family.
There’s lots of work to do, but there is also lots of hope.
