Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? That’s one in every classroom! This year, I’m taking part in Jeans for Genes to help fund the incredible scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute, who are working today to change lives tomorrow but also for two of my beautiful granddaughters, Lottie and Millie, who are both affected by genetics in different ways.
Lucy and Potty had begun genetic testing and investigation throughout their pregnancy with Lottie and at two weeks of age, she was diagnosed with Noonan Syndrome, a rare genetic condition.
Tom and Kaarin are in the process of undertaking genetic investigation for Millie as what they thought was a cerebral palsy diagnosis for her, may not be the case.
Both of our girls are strong, brave and resilient. They have both faced lots of challenges, and will continue to throughout their lives, however they face each one head on with a smile. They truly are an inspiration and my reason behind participating in this fundraiser!
Love you guys, all the best ❤️
