Why I’m Supporting Jeans for Genes

We are supporting Jeans for Genes again this year in hopes to raise money for the CMRI. This is our 4th year fundraising in honour of our beautiful girl Olivia.

Olivia was born with a rare genetic disorder (2q31.1 chromosome deletion and a 22q11 chromosome duplication) and has been diagnosed with Global developmental delay. Due to the rarity of these chromosome abnormalities and lack of funding for research Olivia has not received a formal diagnosis .

Olivia is 5 this year and attends a special school due to having an intellectual disability. We see physio, OT and speech weekly and have done since she was 12 months old.

In Olivia’s short 5 years of her life she has had multiple surgeries and illnesses due to her chromosome abnormalities. Our little girl is a warrior and we would love your help and support to raise the much needed funds to get us and families likes ours a diagnosis.
