Why I’m Supporting Jeans for Genes

Nixon has a rare metabolic disorder called Phenylketoneuria (PKU). Only 1 in approximately 15,000 babies born in Aus/NZ are diagnosed, yet every child born is tested for it as part of newborn screening because of the impact it has on growth and development. Nixon is only allowed 11grams of protein per day as anything greater than this could cause irreversible brain damage. It takes great time and effort to manage Nixon’s condition and keep him at positive brain health and he is an incredibly bright and resilient little man!

Your donation will help keep labs running, research advancing, and hope alive for kids who need it most, including Nixon!

Together, we can make a difference.
