Jeans for Genes for Zahra
I’ve signed up to Jeans for Genes to raise money for the Children’s Medical Research Institute; where research can better detect disease, better treat disease and help save more kids’ lives.
“Medical research is so important to get any answers for any genetic condition,” ..Our daughter Zahra was diagnosed with a genetic condition that has effected her motor, speech skills and intellectual ability - a condition that was not inherited but as a result of a de novo pathogenic variant. TRIO NDD is an autosomal dominant disorder - and with more research we can discover more about this mutation; the long term effects as well as more research for earlier detection for better outcomes.
1 in 20 Aussie kids face a birth defect or genetic disease, just like cancer. Most people don’t know that cancer is caused by changes in genes—but almost everyone will be touched by it. So, the research you and I support today may one day help someone we know, someone in our family.
