One Week Down!

One week down, over 340km logged, and over $10k raised. For context, that is over 200 hours of research. I am honestly speechless. Thank you so much to those who have donated, and a bigger thank you to everyone in Oscar’s Crew. Let’s double it next week 😝

Rain Rain Go Away

What a challenging first weekend to clock up some kms! Shout out to Nanna Ness, who braved the elements in the Gong and clocked up 5kms!I’ve been relying on the treadmill, which has also been a great source of entertainment for Oscar - he thinks it’s hilarious. I’m sure he’d love you be getting pushed along in the pram getting some fresh air, but for now he can stay rugged up and dry! Don’t forget to go to your profile and “log my KMs” every day! 

Oscars Journey

Did you know that 1 in 20 Aussie kids are born with a genetic disease or birth defect? That’s one in every classroom!

Oscar was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome just a month after his first birthday. His diagnosis provided some clarity, but also came with a lot more questions. Will we ever hear him call us “Mummy” and “Daddy”? Where will he go to school? What happens after school? What will his future look like? Every week, he shows us true determination. His weeks are filled with therapy sessions and medical appointments, but he never fails to give us a smile and chuckle to show us he’s thriving. Oscar is cuddly, cheeky and so clever. He teaches us to slow down and enjoy the small things. 

This August, we’re taking on the Ks for Kids challenge - walking or running to raise funds for Children’s Medical Research Institute, supporting scientists who are working today to find cures for tomorrow.

Your donation will help keep labs running, research advancing, and hope alive for kids who need it most.
